Eat less. Get more rest. This year, why not try putting your best foot forward by stepping up your "shoe game" and updating your footwear wardrobe? You may feel a little guilty about the whole idea of buying yourself new kickers when your kids need basketball gear, soccer cleats and prom shoes. But you don't have to spend an entire paycheck to soothe your soles with something new. For example, consider brown bagging it for lunch every day and then saving the money you would usually spend eat- ing out—you might even end up making healthier eating choices. Ultimately, by stepping up your shoe game, you just may improve your overall health. Purchase some fun, neon, aerodynamic fitness shoes, and you won't be able to ignore them. They'll be a daily reminder to take your dog for a longer walk, park farther from the grocery store, chase your kids on the soccer field. And you'll reap the benefits of feeling better, improving your overall health—and looking more stylish from the ankles down, at least. You can even take those new shoes out for a stroll at an upcoming Day of Dance event. Check out for an event near you and kick off the New Year with a bang. Shoes of all shapes and sizes are welcome!
