That's the message from several recent studies on breakfast eating and weight control, according to Lauri Wright, who is a registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. INSULIN RESISTANCE When you go without food throughout the night and then skip breakfast, "your body doesn't know when the next meal is com- ing," says Wright. The result could be that your body requires more insulin to bring your glucose levels to a normal range, which can lead to health problems.
