For health care professionals, it is a duty and a privilege to be at their side during these times, offering expertise and compassion. At other times, we have the added joy of being with patients and families at a most important life-altering event: the birth of a child. And that is why I'm very pleased to see the renovation and expansion of our Indianapolis hospital's Women & Children's Center come to completion. Expecting parents will find it a place where they feel comfortable and secure during the special time of welcoming a new member to the family. Please join us for our public open house on Saturday, April 30 (see back cover for more details). The renovations include beautiful and spacious labor and delivery suites alongside south-central Indiana's only Level III neonatal intensive care unit (see page 30) redesigned with private rooms for enhanced infant care and family comfort. Other features include an expanded pediatric wing and a new maternal/fetal medicine clinic. The redesigned lobby is home to our Wellness Suite for massage therapy and acupuncture services for men and women of all ages (Inspiring Women members receive a discount on massage therapy). Our hospital's gift shop and a new café serving Starbucks coffee complete the new lobby. The celebration continues, too: We learned earlier this year that Franciscan St. Francis has been designated an Anthem Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care. The recognition is a testament to the dedication and skill we bring to caring for mothers and our tiniest patients. James T.
