COVER PHOTO BY MIKE COOTS 18 20 LET THE STRESS "FALL" OFF Pumpkin spiced lattes. Pumpkin scented candles. Pumpkin muffins. Everything is coming up pumpkins! Fall is upon us, with its wonderful cornucopia of familiar smells, tastes and experiences. As the holiday season approaches, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, stress ourselves out, and end up forgetting what the season is really about: giving thanks for family, friends and of course, our health. Don't let this season slip by without taking some time to appreciate it. Visiting a pumpkin patch, going on a hayride and dressing up for Halloween all make for great memories, but it doesn't even have to be that complicated. Meet an old friend for lunch to reconnect, or just take a walk to hear the leaves crunch under your feet and recharge your batteries. The holiday season is also a time when it's easy to neglect your health. Why not take a "personal" day just to celebrate YOU and decompress before the season kicks into full gear? Make it all about YOU, not just about checking things off your to-do list. Go shopping—for YOURSELF. Get a manicure. Make an appointment with your healthcare provider to be sure you're up-to-date on your screenings. Go in for a mammogram if it's time. Just make sure it's a leisurely day that celebrates YOU, and feel the stress "Fall" right off!
